b) Low energy levels and concentration leaving us unable to focus.

How to improve our ability to remove distractions and lack of time are subjects we will tackle separately but for now let’s discuss low energy levels and concentration.

In fact, it is equally if not more important than exercise in improving concentration levels. Sleep regulates mood and is related to learning and memory functions. Not only will getting your zzz’s help you perform on in an exam, learn a new skill or help you stay on task, but it is also a critical factor in your health, weight and energy levels.

Lack of sleep can creates a vicious cycle – the more tired you are, the more likely you are to consume increased amounts of caffeine (coffee, energy drinks or chocolate) in a bid to help you stay awake during the day; but the more caffeine you consume, the harder it’ll be to fall asleep at night.

If you consistently need an alarm clock to wake up, or constantly hit the snooze button when it goes off, chances are you’re not getting enough sleep. If you get enough sleep, you should wake naturally. The simple solution is to go to bed earlier!

Your diet also plays a important role in keeping you alert and active.  Look out for How to stay Focused Part 2 -Top 5 Brain Foods
