We are regularly on the look out for writers and photographers who can help us keep this site fresh, interesting and topical.

Writers
We are looking for young people of African Descent (especially male)  to write on everything from current news, blogs and commentary on the internet (audio, video & text), to topical  blogs (max 750 words) expressing your opinion on a subject.

We primarily focus on careers, education, aspirations, empowerment and definitions of success, however, we are open to wide and varied subjects (fictional and non-fictional) that are interesting and important to our readers.  It is key all submissions progressive and engaging.

Top tips’ for blog writing

• Write for the benefit of your readers, think of your post as an information store which readers can access and obtain rich, useful and valuable information. Ask the question “how is this helping my readers?”
• Think about your writing style to ensure it is accessible and informative.
• Provide a snappy and eyecatching headline to make sure you’re noticed.
• Ensure your post is credible by providing links or crediting the news articles, websites, other blogs etc you may mention.
• Engage the reader by using humour and first-hand accounts where appropriate.
• Have an opinion and do not be afraid to articulate it.
• Choose a topic to discuss that you are passionate about.
• Stay relevant to your chosen topic and avoid going off on a tangent.

Illustrators and Photographers
We are looking for Illustrators and Photographers to add their original and positive ideas to the site. Some of the material will be used to sit alongside articles and blogs, whilst others that are powerful but we don’t have appropriate text for will be posted by themselves (alternatively add your own writing to say what inspired the piece!).  All submissions must be positive, progressive and engaging.

• All Submissions must be positive, progressive and engaging.
• We will publish articles as long as they are inspiring, insightful and can add value and provide opportunities for growth for our readers.
• Written submissions should be no longer than 750 words.
• Submissions should be well edited and within the standards of written English..
• Submissions should include author’s name (or if the author prefers, a web alias). All work will be accredited and if you have a site that will also be posted.
• Please do not pass on another person’s work as your own!
• If you submit an article, photo or illustration referencing ,written, or drawn originally by someone else, please include details of the original work, including names, titles and URL links if relevant.
