Mentoring
We’ve put together this guide of various mentoring and education programmes to help you find the one that would be right for you. Jump right in and have a look. Or if you want, read on and see how we describe what mentoring is.
What is Mentoring?
Mentor (noun)
1. A wise and trusted counselor or teacher.
2. Mentor Greek Mythology Odysseus’s trusted counselor, in whose guise Athena became the guardian and teacher of Telemachus.
Mentoring (noun)
To serve as a trusted counselor or teacher to (another person).
There is a universal conception that many people accomplish higher levels of success in the professional arena if they have had the assistance of a mentor. This assistance may appear in the shape of discussing career goals, exploring options and paths and answering queries. At OTS, we believe in encouraging and facilitating mentoring within the youth community as much as possible.
“The mentor should challenge the mentee by setting the stage for new ideas, since real learning very rarely happens in a sterile and safe environment.”
